Are tenants required to compile their own inventory reports?2021-11-05T21:30:42+00:00

No. However, many of our clients use our services to document the condition of the their landlord’s property and existing maintenance issues. This helps to protect the tenant’s deposit from illegitimate deductions.

Why should I use a third party inventory service?2021-11-05T22:07:25+00:00

Below are a few reasons why you should use a third party service to conduct your property inspection and report;

  • Professional services will provide an accurate & robust report, which can stand up in court in regards to any disputes about the tenant’s deposit.
  • Inventory reports must be unbiased and an adjudicator will not regard a report conducted by you as independent or fair.
  • Any errors in conducting your report could cost you a lot more than it actually saves.
Are property inventories important?2021-11-05T21:55:57+00:00

Yes. Inventory reports form an important part of the tenancy agreement, which illustrates the condition of a property as well as its changes during and after a tenancy. It is designed to safeguard the landlord’s property from damage outside of wear and tear. These reports can also serve the purpose of protecting the tenant’s deposit from unfair deductions.
